Tooth Cavities
If you neglect your teeth, don’t brush or floss enough, or experience trauma to a tooth, cavities can form. Cavities occur when tooth enamel becomes soft and starts to decay. It is detected by either seeing a hole forming in the tooth, or feeling a soft spot. Usually if you catch a cavity early, a filling is the solution, and you can prevent more invasive restorative procedures.
Restore Oral Health
Because of their years of experience, Dr. Boucek and Brawner typically catch cavities earlier, so they are able to perform minimally invasive fillings. We start by identifying the cavity, usually during a standard check up.
During the procedure, a local anesthetic will be applied for maximum comfort. Then, we remove any decayed enamel and fill the damaged area with a composite restorative material that is usually the color of the tooth. In some cases, fillings can be silver or gold. This procedure helps restore a tooth back to its proper form and function.
